MOUNTAIN AND PLAIN LANDSCAPES

Hello happy friends, look at these landscapes… they are mountains, some seem to reach the sky and others are so high that when we climb them they allow us to see landscapes as beautiful as this one.
Now, look at these other landscapes, there aren’t any mountains, they are flat and that’s why we call them… plains. Today we are going to learn about the mountain and plain landscapes.

We all know that mountains are huge elevations of land, they look rather like a saw, don’t you think. AND several mountains together form a mountain range.

Mountains have three parts: the summit, the slope and the foot.
The summit is the highest part, the slope is the central part, and the foot is the lowest part of the mountain.

Many rivers start in the mountains, but when they are forming they are narrow and carry little water, although the water does flow verryyyy quickly.

In the mountains people tend to live in small villages and the roads leading up to them are narrow and winding.
Do you know why? Because if we were to go up them in a straight line, it would be such a steep road that we would fall backwards.

Plain landscapes or plains are big flat lands without mountains.
When the rivers coming down from the mountains reach the plains, they become wider, and their waters run more smoothly until they reach the sea.

On the plains there are also forests, lakes and crops. And the people who live there often live in large towns and cities.

We have already got to know the mountain and plain landscapes so now… let’s review.

Mountains are huge elevations of land, and it is here where narrow rivers with little water are formed. The villages are small, and the roads are winding.

The plains are large areas of flat land, and here there are no mountains. Here the rivers are wide, and there are fields of crops, large villages and cities.

But always remember, to be able to enjoy all these landscapes, we have to respect, look after and keep nature and all things that surround us, clean.

Goodbye friends.
