What can our ant friends do to save themselves?<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s see, you\u2019re the slowest, and you\u2019re going to take 10 minutes to cross the bridge.<br \/>\nYou\u2019re going to take 5, you\u2019ll take 2, and because I\u2019m the fastest, I will take 1 minute.<br \/>\nAnd we only have one light!<br \/>\nAnd the anteater is going to take 17 minutes to get here, what shall we do?<\/p>\n<p>These little ants need our help, let\u2019s get our thinking caps on!<br \/>\nBut if you need a little more time, pause the video.<\/p>\n<p>Have you figured it out?<br \/>\nLet\u2019s take a look!<\/p>\n<p>If two ants go together, they will take the same time as the slowest ant.<br \/>\nSo the best idea is that and 1 and 2 go together.<br \/>\nThey\u2019ve spent 2 minutes crossing.<\/p>\n<p>Now, ant 1 will cross back with the light, and she will take another minute.<br \/>\nThat means, in total they\u2019ve taken 3 minutes.<br \/>\nWho should cross the bridge now?<\/p>\n<p>Ant 1, will give the lamp to ant 5, and this one crosses the bridge with ant 10.<br \/>\nIf we add these 10 minutes, to the 3 we had before, we\u2019ve taken 13 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Now, the ant that goes back with the lamp is ant number 2, who takes 2 minutes.<br \/>\nSo they\u2019ve taken a total of 15 minutes, and the anteater is about to arrive!<\/p>\n<p>So, the ants we\u2019ve got left are the ones that take 1 and 2 minutes.<br \/>\nHow long will they take?<\/p>\n<p>Of course! it\u2019s two minutes!<br \/>\nAnd if we add them to the 15 minutes we had before, we\u2019ve reached a total of 17 minutes!<\/p>\n<p>Yes! we\u2019ve saved our little ants! And it\u2019s all thanks to our maths!<\/p>\n<p>The truth is, maths are so much fun, and so helpful!<\/p>\n<p>Goodbye happy friends!
