S\u00f3c la Terra. S\u00ed, s\u00ed, el planeta Terra, i vull parlar-te dels arbres, ja que s\u00f3n molt importants per a mi i per a tots els \u00e9ssers vius.<br \/>\nSaps quants arbres hi ha a la meva superf\u00edcie? B\u00e9, gaireb\u00e9 tres mil bilions!!! S\u00ed, i s\u00ed, amb &#8220;B&#8221;! Tens ra\u00f3. \u00c9s dif\u00edcil d\u2019imaginar aquesta quantitat &#8230; I sembla que siguin molts, per\u00f2 la veritat \u00e9s que en necessitem m\u00e9s perqu\u00e8 s\u00f3n fonamentals per la bona salut del nostre entorn i, per tant, per la teva i per la meva. A m\u00e9s, cada any desapareixen quinze mil milions d&#8217;arbres als nostres boscos.<br \/>\nQuina barbaritat!<\/p>\n<p>El qu\u00e8 podem veure a simple vista d&#8217;un arbre \u00e9s nom\u00e9s una part d&#8217;aquest \u00e9sser viu tan complex i fascinant. Sota terra hi ha les arrels. Gr\u00e0cies a elles, l&#8217;arbre es fixa a la terra, absorbint l&#8217;aigua i els minerals dissolts que l&#8217;ajuden a cr\u00e9ixer. A m\u00e9s, aquestes arrels s\u00f3n com una m\u00e0 que atrapa la terra i impedeix que sigui arrossegada per l&#8217;aigua i el vent, evitant aix\u00ed l&#8217;erosi\u00f3.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019aigua i els aliments que rep a trav\u00e9s de les arrels s&#8217;estenen per tot l&#8217;arbre a trav\u00e9s de l&#8217;interior del tronc, una veritable columna que sost\u00e9 la copa. Hi ha les branques, que creixen i s&#8217;estenen de manera molt similar a les arrels subterr\u00e0nies. D\u2019elles en neixen les fulles, un element fonamental de cada arbre perqu\u00e8 gr\u00e0cies a les fulles poden fer la fotos\u00edntesi i, per tant, alimentar-se. Qu\u00e8 \u00e9s la fotos\u00edntesi? B\u00e9, doncs \u00e9s un proc\u00e9s qu\u00edmic fascinant. L&#8217;aigua enriquida amb minerals arriba a les fulles i all\u00e0, amb l&#8217;ajuda de la llum solar i la clorofil\u00b7la, que tamb\u00e9 \u00e9s la responsable que siguin de color verd, es barreja amb el carboni que les fulles absorbeixen de l&#8217;aire.<\/p>\n<p>La fotos\u00edntesi \u00e9s essencial per a l&#8217;arbre, per\u00f2 tamb\u00e9 \u00e9s essencial per a tots els \u00e9ssers vius que viuen al seu voltant, perqu\u00e8 gr\u00e0cies a ella l\u2019arbre captura di\u00f2xid de carboni, o CO\u2082, una de les causes de l'&#8221;efecte hivernacle&#8221; que est\u00e0 provocant que la temperatura augmenti a tot el planeta. En aquest proc\u00e9s els arbres tamb\u00e9 expulsen oxigen, essencial en l&#8217;aire que respirem. I hi ha molts m\u00e9s beneficis que els arbres ens aporten a tots.<\/p>\n<p>S\u00f3n com petits planetes vius perqu\u00e8 ofereixen menjar i refugi a molts animals. Els \u00e9ssers humans n\u2019obtenen fusta i fruits. Humitegen la for\u00e7a del vent i la pluja alhora que redueixen la contaminaci\u00f3 de l&#8217;aire, filtrant-la a trav\u00e9s de les seves fulles i branques.<br \/>\nEstic segura que en algun dia molt calor\u00f3s has buscat la seva ombra. B\u00e9, tamb\u00e9 fan una cosa aix\u00ed amb mi. Els boscos s\u00f3n un dels millors mitjans que tinc per regular el clima gr\u00e0cies a la seva ombra i la capacitat d\u2019evitar que l&#8217;aigua s&#8217;evapori.<\/p>\n<p>Com podeu veure hi ha moltes i molt bones raons per tenir cura dels arbres. I, millor encara, per plantar-ne i ajudar-los a cr\u00e9ixer sans i forts.
